Sunda Energy Plc aspires to achieve the highest standards of HSE performance and is committed to safeguarding the environment and minimising risk to our employees, contractors, and the communities in which we work. Through developing sustainable long-term relationships with its partners and the community, Sunda Energy aims to conduct business and enhance value in a responsible manner.
In all our operations and activities, we recognise that proper HSE management is important to the business and we shall:
- Ensure that all our operations and activities are carried out in accordance with our compliance obligations, including all applicable legislative requirements and associated codes of practice;
- Ensure safe working conditions are provided and safe procedures followed at all locations to protect our staff, contractors, and the public;
- Actively protect the environment in our areas of operation by preventing pollution, making efficient use of energy and natural resources, reducing emissions and avoiding waste;
- Promote a positive HSE culture through visible commitment, leadership communication and consultation;
- Establish an HSE committee made up of independent non-executive directors to oversee the Company’s HSE processes;
- Ensure that all staff are aware of their delegated HSE responsibilities and are properly trained to undertake these;
- Utilise contractors who can demonstrate a level of commitment to recognised HSE standards;
- Ensure, through risk management processes, that any work undertaken does not involve unacceptable or uncontrolled risk to personnel or to the environment;
- Ensure that appropriate contingency plans and resources are in place to respond to incidents and emergencies; and
- Endeavour to continually improve the effectiveness of our HSE Management System, to enhance our HSE performance by routinely monitoring and reporting against set objectives and targets, and conducting regular audits and reviews.
Responsibility for HSE matters is a condition of employment for all Sunda Energy personnel.
Our Chief Executive Officer is accountable for the HSE performance of the Company, and he or she shall ensure that sufficient resources are in place to implement this policy and to develop and maintain the HSE Management System.
